Design Experiments

The following pictures below are individual Design Experiments that were created over the course of 2-3 weeks.
The piece above was created using a texture and going over a stencil with the texture. Once it dried I used acrylic paint to go over the dry texture. If I were to redo this experiment I would probably paint it a gold or bronze to make it appear ancient.
To create the design above I used foil and a stencil to imprint the swirls and circles. I then went over the stencil print with acrylic paint giving off a(n) ombre look.
The design above was also created the same way as the other foil imprint and then painted over with a thicker coat of acrylics. The imprint did not come out as visible as the 1st attempt which is why I went in with thicker paint to give it more detail.
Shaving Cream Design #1
Shaving Cream Design #2
Both Shaving Cream designs above were created the same way just with different colors. My favorite of the two is #2 because of how it resembles a Peacock feather. To me, I don't think it seems like something you'd create out of shaving cream if it were my 1st glimpse.
The pieces above were created using the pouring technique on a paper plate followed by cutting the plate up into random shapes. When I had to take a photo for my blog of this piece I decided to put the cut up pieces back together but not touching.
The blue piece above was created when we were learning about using pouring mediums. If we did not have the medium then we painted on a clear sheet that is typically used to protect papers. Once I got paint on the clear sheet I went through with my brush swirling it around.
Razor Blade #1
Razor Blade #2
Both Razor Blade pieces shown above were created using ONLY a razor blade. In the beginning it was hard to think of what I could create using a razor blade to paint but once I got into it, I decided to try and draw a figure. Razor Blade #1 is my favorite of all the design pieces in one because of the texture it shows and the fact that is was created using ONLY a razor blade really blew me away.
The following pieces above were created using clay which were then painted with clay glazes such as the gold, bronze, and darker brown colors. The clay pieces were stamped with clay stamps prior to painting and drying.
The piece above was a textured paper that I painted and once it was dry I went over it with a heat blower causing it to crinkle and give it the bubble effect.
Above are more clay pieces that were covered in varnish and metallic foil sheets. I really liked the vibrant colors that were shown and how well the foil revealed the true shape and cracks in the clay because of the varnish.
The piece above was one of the first pieces we created and it was created by choosing one word and re-writing it multiple times in different colors. I used sharpie, puffy paint, and markers when re-writing the word "love".
